Hello everyone,

I hope all of you had a very Merry Christmas! I had a great time seeing my Daughter Nicole and her husband Brad over the holidays. they live in Nebraska, so I only get to see them 1-2 times a year. It was great spending Christmas with them and other family too! family is what it is all about for me.

I am posting a few pictures of some spring inspired projects that I will be placing in my Etsy shop.
Spring is just around the corner, and I am happily working on some spring inspired items. I love the spring time, when all the flowers are beginning to bloom and the tress are budding. It seems like everything comes to life. I especially love it here in AZ because everything is green, and there are colorful flowers everywhere. In the neighborhoods and out in the Desert. there wild flowers galore, and some of the cacti are in bloom. The desert has beauty of it's own, and nothing on earth can compare with it. I just wish it would last a little longer here, after May it gets hot and everything turns brown. there is green grass in the yards and a few hardy flowering bushes, but the brutal heat kills off most things. I am partial to English gardens , where everything is misty and cool. Big shade trees and flowers everywhere are what I long for.
I live in the wrong place for that, but I can go there in my imagination! and I do. I wouldn't trade my Desert home for anything, but I do wish spring would last a little longer!

I'll keep you posted on the progress of my Etsy shop. I will also be putting up some of the projects made for "Silver Bella" so check back often. Maybe there are a few of you who will want to start shopping for next Christmas !! Did I just SAY THAT? EEK!

Any way, have a happy, safe, and Blessed New Year!

Hugs,

Heidi

Music in the air

Hello, Happy Father's Day !

Hope your day was everything you hoped it would be. Fun, relaxing, filled with family and friends. Maybe you had a cookout, or went to a ball game. or watched one on TV. Whatever you did, I hope it was memorable.

This is a vintage inspired card that once again features a little song bird, singing her heart out amongst some bits of ribbon, tinsel, buttons, and paper doilies. A sprinkle of glitter adds just the right amount of sparkle. The caption reads" Music in the air" the designs are from TJ Designs, a division of Tweety Jill . I used the "Song Birds" set. As you might have guessed, it is fast becoming one of my favorites.....OK, it is already My Favorite!! Enjoy the rest of your Sunday!

Thanks for stopping by! I'll be back in a couple of days with some new projects to share.

till then,

Heidi

Hello,

Just a quick post to share a thought or two, and show you what I've been up to the last 3-4 days.
I have been into making cute tags to go on gifts, or to tuck into goody baskets or bags for a special friend or neighbor. I think these turned out pretty cute. I have a lot of ideas for some different ones, as well as some ideas for the holidays! (It never hurts to think ahead! ) This year I have vowed not to wait till the last minute to get my holiday projects started. I always have so many "good" ideas, and my sister and I talk and talk about all the cool stuff we want to try and then never do it. Well...I should say , we have the best of intentions, but we wait to late to get going. We might make one or two things before Christmas, or Halloween, but that's it. By then we are all excited about how they turn out, but at that point we have no more time. Sooo......this year, It's going to be Christmas in July! at least out here in Arizona!

I have been really enjoying our weather out here in Phoenix lately. I't s getting hot in the afternoons here, but the mornings and evenings have been really pleasant. that is unusual for this time of year, so it has been great! I really felt for those poor folks in New Jersey yesterday, it was snowing!! in June!! How weird is that?? And.... there was a Tornado in Denver! That is weird too. Oh well, You can't fool mother nature, but apparently she can fool us!

Have a good one!

I {heart } Music vintage inspired card

I just love a good song. one that makes you tap your toes and that lifts your spirits. I love beautiful music played by a full orchestra while you are watching a beautiful ballet, the sheer joy and appreciation of the dance so visibly evident on your face. Or Christmas Carols that evoke memories of Christmases past when all the family is together and good will is everywhere. This card expresses all those things to me. Music is everywhere. Outside there is a symphony in my back yard, every day! Especially when I fill the bird feeder. There is music in the sounds of the city, the wind , the thunder and lightning of a monsoon storm, the rain on my window. It's out there, you just have to listen!

Have a good Day! Stop and take notice of all the music in the air.

Thanks for stopping by.

Song Bird Vintage & Arts

Hello!

Welcome to my blog!

I'm excited to share my love of vintage items and paper crafting with you. I get inspired by the classic beauty of timeless treasures and the hint they give of the past. I love taking something that might be a little faded , tarnished and no longer loved, and giving it new purpose and life.

I am inspired by so many things, nature, an old photograph, a broken piece of china. I always wonder just a little about the the life it once had,... who owned it , where did it come from? If only it could tell us. What stories we would hear!

My taste runs from very elegant depression glass, silver & crystal, & fine linen, to the quirky, odd 50's . I love the all the fun pottery, tablecloths, and knick knacks that were so prevalent in the 40's and 50's. So, I'm glad you could join me as I hunt for just the right item to display or alter. I love a good Treasure Hunt! How about you?
